Today I like to show you the 10 best weight loss foods. We’ll concentrate only on veggies. Why, because with vegetables you can lose weight fast. Veggies are the Nr 1 weight loss boosters.

Anybody who was on a diet for losing weight knows. Counting every calorie is annoying on a long turn. With Intermittent Fasting, you’ll be able to lose weight without counting calories. Or you reduce your calories by Intermittent fasting. We all know counting calories is annoying when you do this long turn, so it is natural you start practicing the 16/8 or 18/6 Intermittent fasting. The benefit of fasting is, the time you can eat is restricted. You stop eating at an early hour, and you’ll fast most of the time.  Green leafy veggies like spinach, kale, Swiss chard, collards, and a few others.

Mushrooms keep your blood sugar levels low. They make you feel full for a long time and are extremely low in calories. They only have 22 calories for every 100 grams.

Mushrooms contain no cholesterol, and they are gluten-free. Green leaf vegetables are rich in protein, vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. The nutrients in mushrooms help you to burn fat and regulate glucose levels in the blood.

10. Carrots.


Carrots are great for weight loss. They only have 41 calories for every 100 grams.

Carrots contain 88% water, are rich in beta-carotene, fiber, vitamin K1, potassium, and antioxidants.

You can use carrots anywhere. They are great in soups, in rice dishes, salads, or mixed with other vegetables. You can also eat them wonderfully raw, cut them in handy pieces, put them in a jar, and take them with you during the day. That will keep you away from gravings and fast food. Carrots are healthy and help you lose weight.

I have to give you one extra because, without this, the list is simply not complete.

11. Beetroot.

Beetroot is a very delicious and healthy vegetable. There are no studies about beetroot for weight loss. That is interesting because beetroot is extremely low in calories and has no fat.

100 gm serving of beetroot contains only 43 calories, 2.8 grams of fiber which makes you saturated, and 10 grams of complex carbohydrates.

Beetroot juice is known as the healthiest weight loss drink in the world. It lowers your blood pressure and is rich in fiber, vitamin C, Iron, Folate (vitamin B9), manganese, and potassium.


Start eating more veggies! You will see how delicious vegetables can be. You lose weight without having the feeling that you be missing something. Drink cucumber water during the day. I don’t know why some people take chemicals in the form of pills and powders to lose weight when they can lose weight the natural way by eating foods that are rich in nutrients without any side effects. The key to losing weight is in what we consume, just as what we consume can cause weight gain so what we consume can and will contribute to weight loss and as we add exercise to our weight loss program is even better.

Unfortunately, most people have forgotten because they almost always eat heavily processed foods or fast food. It is full of preservatives, sugar, and fats.     This is a great list of the best veggies to eat for weight loss.  I try to eat most of these veggies as part of my daily diet, but some of them I have never tried like kimchi and beetroot.  They sound interesting and definitely healthy.  I was surprised to learn that cucumber has cancer-fighting properties, that’s great!  I just figured because it was mostly water, that it didn’t have very much nutritional qualities.

    Thanks for sharing, I will definitely be adding more veggies into my daily meals.

  3. Thank you very much for this useful post. I have taken note. I would also like to share some of the foods I avoid to lose weight.

    I avoid Sugar and its derivatives. Sugar is the most widely used natural product in the world to sweeten food and beverages. But to much translates into less health.

    I also avoid refined flours.

    And last but not least, I avoid the three fs, which are fats and fried foods.

    • Hello Abel, it seems you are on a healthy path already. Cut out the 3 F’s is the best you can do for health. Take care you drink enough, man’s problem nr 1. Don’t dehydrate. Eat fruits during the morning hours.

      Start at 11 Am with eating your fruits, when you are doing the Intermittent Fasting.

Eating mostly vegetables as part of a complex diet is a great way to slim down while getting all the nutrients you need.  It’s a sustainable lifestyle and a great long-term solution for being fit and healthy.  So many vegetables are nutrient dense foods, which provide all the vitamins, minerals, amino acids, etc. that the body needs.  I especially love potatoes.  They are considered a “complete food” which means that you could eat a diet of only potatoes and survive because they provide everything your body needs.  Disclaimer – Please only try a potato diet under doctor supervision!

      I am not a fan of monotonous diets. You have to change your lifestyle into a healthy one. Then you can finely lose weight, become healthy and fit again. Eating only one product isn’t possible on a long turn. You are longing for other food, and when you stop, you fall into the never satisfied trap, eating all the food you couldn’t eat for a long time.   6. When I saw your article. I jumped into it fast because I am not only concern of my personal weight loss but also to the diet of my husband who was restricted for quite some time on meat, high sugar and high uric acid foods.

    So, I need to select from those which you suggested. His doctor gave a brochure of the vegetables that he should not eat. Not really a big issue here.

    I eat alternately what you recommends. And my favorite among them are mushrooms, cucumber and carrot. I love to saute mushroom in garlic and butter while munching carrot and cucumber fresh and with peel.

The body is strong, but have their limits. To live on sugar, fat, and acid foods is extremely unhealthy. Go for your favorite veggies, eat lean meat two times a week.   7. Hi Monique. Thank you for very interesting article. Last year was very difficult to keep good weight, with spending so much time in home and gym closed. That’s why proper diet is more important then ever. I knew that some vegetables are describing are good for health, but there are also surprises. I always though that potatoes or mushrooms don’t have too good effect on our diet, but looking on your article I will definitely include them more in my daily diet.

Science found out Vitamin D plays a huge role in Corona resistants? In Switzerland, they saved lots of elderly people from adding Vit D to their daily diet. Potatoes are delicious, extremely low in calories, and healthy. With the low-carb movement, unfortunately, the potato became a bad reputation.
